FSC Professional Development
For Teachers
Outdoor learning can provide huge opportunities for students and teachers alike. But it can also be daunting. This is why every year the FSC offers career development and professional training opportunities in fieldwork and the environment for trainee and experienced teachers, educational visits coordinators, outdoor leaders and countryside staff.
During 2009/10 we will be offering a programme of courses specifically for teachers these include:
Sponsored courses for PGCE students and NQTs | Courses to help develop skills for teachers
PGCE and NQT Sponsored courses
If you are worried by fieldwork or concerned about out-of-classroom learning this courses may be the answer!
Our specially designed courses for PGCE students and NQTs are sponsored by the FSC, cost £50 for a weekend including full board and accommodation and are aimed at Key Stage 2/3, 3/4 and AS/A2 level teachers.
Courses include support and ideas for:
- Management of groups' during fieldwork
- Risk Assessment
- Using different sites and habitats
- Practical subject-based activities and ideas
