A field key to the British Brown Seaweeds
- Code: 125
- Author(s): Hiscock
- Date: 1979
- Price : £6.00
This AIDGAP identification key is designed to allow non-specialists to identify the majority of British macroscopic (larger than 1cm) brown seaweeds in the field, most to species level where this is possible without a microscope.
Littoral, sublittoral and rare species are all included to help with brown seaweed identification. A full glossary is appended, and numerous thumbnail sketches are incorporated in the text to help ease-of-use. All plants are fully illustrated and an introductory section describing the ecology of the brown seaweeds will help in interpreting patterns of distribution on the seashore.
AIDGAP produces simple and clearly written identification keys, aimed at non-specialist users from age 16+
The FSC is one of the UK's leading publishers of identification guides, ranging from easy to use fold-out charts through intermediate level AIDGAP guides, to specialist books such as the Synopses of the British Fauna and RES Handbooks.
