Aimed at GCSE and AS/A2, the Understanding Geography Fieldwork series of fold-out charts have been designed for independent student use in the field or in the classroom.
Statistics for Geographers, used successfully in draft form for many years by A-level geographers visiting FSC Field Centres, is intended to reduce students' reliance on their teachers when processing fieldwork data.
With a clear flow chart to guide choice of statistical tests when dealing with data (also useful at the planning stage!) and assuming no previous knowledge of statistics, full instructions and worked examples guide students through five of the most useful tests: Spearman's Rank, Mann-Whitney U, Chi-squared, Student's t and Pearson Product Moment. Tables of critical values for the most commonly used probability levels are also included.
This is just one of the FSC's range of fold-out charts, designed to help users identify of a wide range of plants and animals. Each chart is laminated to make it splashproof and robust for use outdoors. Clear colour illustrations and text by experts in the subject make these valuable resources for all age groups.
