Mind the Gap: bridging the learning gap between schools and society
- Start Date: Tuesday 01 December 2009
- Finish Date: Wednesday 30 November 2011
There is a gap between school and real-life, with schools focusing primarily on knowledge outside of contexts that make it relevant to pupils. This project will address this ‘gap’ in the context of sustainable development, thus offering an innovative approach.
Mind the Gap addresses two Lifelong Learning Programme priorities: improving motivation for learning and learning skills, and reinforcing sustainable development through education.
The overall aim is to increase the motivation amongst young people to learn and apply their learning to real-life, address the needs to build the skills and behaviours for a sustainable future.
The outputs will be in all partner languages and easily replicable. A content managed website will allow all users to add new WQ to keep the resources dynamic and reflect local issues. We expect to target at least 250 schools, 750 teachers and 7500 pupils. www.migaproject.eu
