Access to all rooms is restricted by code locks and the building is secured externally by a coded entry system. The Centre has four formal teaching rooms each with large, modern interactive whiteboards and wireless access. There is a small computer suite for general use and access to laptops for all classrooms. There is a specialist soils lab, weather station, drying room and use of a library. The centre is located on the edge of the Exmoor National Park and the actual centre building is a Grade 1 listed 16th century manor house. It has many original features including The Great Hall, extensive wood paneling, ornate plasterwork walls and ceilings and open fires. The Centre has an adult drawing room and student common room with a range of recreational activities including pool table, arcade games, table football and TV. There are facilities available to make hot and cold drinks. It has extensive grounds suitable for outdoor games and many on-site habitats suitable for teaching; these include a stream, woodlands, grasslands and a river a short walk away. |
