Join us as we explore Epping Forest and discover more about the nature and wildlife that lives here.
Join us on a guided walk in winter. As we walk we will learn more about the trees that tell the story of this area and find out about the local natural history. Trees are cherished for their role in providing habitats for wildlife and the beautiful trees are spectacular and home to many other insects and animals. By learning to identify trees in winter you can gain ID skills that will help you to deepen your knowledge when they leaf again in spring.
Tutor: Sharon Brown
Sharon Brown is a botanist – geographer currently working as an independent ecologist with habitat assessment and management as a main area of expertise. Over time she has also worked for the Nature Conservancy Council, Scottish Rangering, Wildlife Trusts and latterly as an associate tutor for the FSC. As a naturalist she has a fascination for wild places, as well as the wild in more urban settings and an enthusiasm for passing this to others through practical application.FSC want to inspire people to be curious, caring, and passionate about our environment. Our Explore nature and wildlife experiences are open to anyone. The mix of activities will inspire you to find out more about and discover how you can help wildlife on your doorstep. To take part you do not need any experience or any expensive kit, just an enthusiasm for being outside and discovering more about nature. Experts leaders and are happy to share their enthusiasm and encourage you to ask questions.

- Bring a bag to carry personal items whilst outside
- Wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather and being based outside for some or all of the day
- When outside, expect to be walking through easy terrain, sometimes on small unsurfaced (and muddy) paths.
