Join us as we explore Bushy Park, one of London’s Royal Parks and discover more about the nature and wildlife that lives here.

During this guided walk, we will get to know nature and wildlife around us. During this guided walk we will discover more about plants, invertebrates and much more. We will lift logs, dip in the pond, look closely at trees and other activities to find out more about nature and wildlife around us and how we can do more to look after it.

Tutor: Sharon Brown

Sharon Brown is a botanist – geographer currently working as an independent ecologist with habitat assessment and management as a main area of expertise. Over time she has also worked for the Nature Conservancy Council, Scottish Rangering, Wildlife Trusts and latterly as an associate tutor for the FSC. As a naturalist she has a fascination for wild places, as well as the wild in more urban settings and an enthusiasm for passing this to others through practical application.

FSC want to inspire people to be curious, caring, and passionate about our environment. Our Explore nature and wildlife experiences are open to anyone. The mix of activities will inspire you to find out more about and discover how you can help wildlife on your doorstep. To take part you do not need any experience or any expensive kit, just an enthusiasm for being outside and discovering more about nature. Experts leaders and are happy to share their enthusiasm and encourage you to ask questions.

  • Bring a packed lunch and additional drinks
  • Bring a bag to carry personal items whilst outside
  • Wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather and being based outside for some or all of the day
  • When outside, expect to be walking through easy terrain, sometimes on small unsurfaced (and muddy) paths.
