FSC Blencathra has recently received a £1500 check from the Wainwright Society.
The centre plans to use the funds to establish an outdoor classroom in the grounds to enable field sketching and other activities when there is inclement weather. In addition, a viewing platform and south facing interpretation board is in development which will link to a laminated fold out chart based on ‘field sketching Wainwright style'.
“It is such a pleasure to receive this cheque from the Wainwright Society on Orrest Head at the place where Alfred Wainwright first visited the Lake District in 1930. The fells and lakes changed the life of Alfred and I am sure he would be pleased that the funds raised from the 2020 calendar sales will be used by the FSC at the Blencathra Centre. All our work at Blencathra provides tremendous scope to work with the Wainwright Society."
