Accommodation

We believe at Castle Head that all our guests should feel welcome and at home. We realise some of our younger guests can feel vulnerable as it’s their first time away from loved ones. We strive to achieve the best and that’s why we have friendly staff that are always on hand to help.

Castle Head has 33 rooms, which can hold up to 160 people. The accommodation available is all in one building and is spread across two different areas.

In the main Wilkinson house the rooms are separated on two upper levels. All of the bedrooms have mirrors, wardrobe space and sockets. Altogether there are two twin en-suite bedrooms, one single bedroom and five dormitory rooms with eight beds which have a shared bathroom on each level.

The other end of the building is the Hillfoot accommodation, which is split between two floors. The top floor has ten spacious dormitory rooms that each have four beds in, three twin en-suite rooms, one single en-suite room and another dormitory with three beds in. The bottom floor has five spacious dormitory rooms with ten beds in, another dormitory room with five beds in, two twin rooms with en-suite and one twin disabled room with a wet room. There is a shared bathroom for students on both the top and bottom floor.  We pride ourselves on having clean, cosy and comfortable bedrooms.

We have three common areas, the student lounge has access to board games and a TV. The other common rooms ('the Chapel' and the 'Hillfoot Common Room') has a little kitchen, table tennis, table football, giant jenga and giant connect four. We also have the Mucklow room which can sometimes be a common room but is used for multiple things. The adult/teachers lounge has an open fire, computer and a TV. We also have a small library, a tuck shop that sells souvenirs and Fairtrade chocolate, and a bar which is open only for adults.

The bedrooms, along with several other rooms mentioned, can be seen on our Virtual Tour page.
