Nick Lapthorn, Head of Centre at Field Studies Council (FSC) centre Nettlecombe Court, has received a prestigious nomination for an award in the upcoming awards for Outstanding Contribution to Learning Outside the Classroom.
His category of Inspiring Educator will be presented, along with the other awards, at a special ceremony in Birmingham on 24th November. The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (CLOtC) are the creators of these awards, now in their ninth year. They are an inspiring way to celebrate the importance and value of learning outside the classroom as well as recognising fantastic personal achievements.
Nick Lapthorn is the Head of Centre at FSC Nettlecombe which welcomes groups of all ages on field courses and outdoor learning experiences. He is Senior Vice President at the Geographical Assocation (GA) and was also a key player in the recent Year of Fieldwork, which saw organisations and individuals, including FSC and the GA, join together to promote the benefits of quality fieldwork.
