What to Bring

  • Warm old clothing for outdoor work (not jeans) Birdwatching , Dogs And Animals . July 2012 039
  • Hat, scarf & gloves
  • Warm coat / fleece
  • Towels & toiletries
  • Waterproof jacket*
  • Waterproof trousers*
  • Wellington boots*
  • Small day sack*
  • Trainers (for sand dune work)
  • Indoor shoes or slippers
  • Outdoor walking shoes / boots (optional)
  • Sun cream and sun hat
  • Torch
  • Lunch box and drinks bottle / flask
  • Scientific calculator (eg. Casio)
  • Pens, pencils & 30cm ruler
  • Washing up gloves (Marigold type)
  • File paper & notebook
  • Any necessary medication eg. Inhalers

All bedding is provided

*can be hired from Centre for £2 per item or £5 for 3 items. Jackets and trousers in sizes S-XXL, wellies in sizes 3-14.

There will be a considerable amount of time spent outdoors, please make sure that you bring plenty of warm and
windproof clothing. Please do not bring any aerosol sprays, as they may trigger the fire alarm.

Electrical Equipment
Due to health and safety regulations visitors may not bring any electrical items for use in the main house. As electrical
items are considered a fire risk, we are required to confiscate any items and return them on departure. Mobile phones
may be brought for use in an emergency and can be charged in the classrooms if necessary. There is a payphone for
students (01646 661204).
