Orielton Field Centre is one of 18 residential centres in the UK managed by the Field Studies Council, an independent educational charity that promotes environmental understanding for all with 70 years of experience.
Orielton Field Centre is An impressive Georgian mansion with over 100 acres of mixed woodland, Orielton is located just three miles from Pembroke on the Castlemartin Peninsular, ideally placed to explore the diverse environments & habitats that Pembrokeshire has to offer.
The centre is easily and surprisingly accessible, only 3hr 40mins from the M25, 3hrs 15mins from Birmingham and 3 miles from the train station.
For geographers, we use our dramatic coast to look and coastal processes, management and spectacular geomorphology. The Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park provides case studies for honey-pot tourism and conflicts. The Preseli Mountains are the source of the Afon Syfynwy, basis of our river studies. For Ecology we have a diverse range of marine and terrestrial habitats all within easy reach of the centre.
Orileton has been awarded the Primary and Secondary Geography Quality Mark by the Geographical Association. As well as the Quality Badge by The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom by demonstrating that they consistently deliver high quality teaching and learning experiences and manage risk effectively. This means you have to complete less paperwork when visiting our Centres.
They hold an eco centres award which shows there commitment to embedding a truly sustainable approach in their centre and their wider community.
