The Robertson Museum and Aquarium showcases many of the species found in Scottish coastal waters. All the animals in the aquarium are caught by students during surveying work or caught by hand during diving and snorkelling trips. Water is pumped directly from the sea into the tanks which brings with it naturally occuring nutrients and food particles for the animals to feed on, creating an environment which closely resembles the animals natural habitat. We keep our animals in the aquarium for a maximum of three weeks before they are released safely back to the sea.
Why not join us and learn a little more about the weird and wonderful creatures that live in our coastal waters. We are open Monday to Friday to the public from 10am-4pm and on selected weekends during school holidays and bank holidays.
