FSC Millport is excited to be hosting a selection of work from local artist Marie Hay this spring. Her artwork includes numerous recent pieces she has completed of the Isle of Cumbrae, and other locations in the west of Scotland including Glasgow.
Everyone is welcome to join the Centre on 2nd April at 2pm for a launch event, which will include the chance to meet Marie as well as enjoy some local cake and tea whilst seeing the artwork.
The Centre will then be showing the artwork throughout the rest of April. Pieces will be on display in several sitting rooms within the Robertson Building, which was recently refurnished with the support of Highlands and Islands Enterprise funding.
Marie Hay is a professional artist who draws visual representations of the local environment, mainly in Scotland. She teaches and exhibits at a variety of galleries as well as holding weekly sales in Glasgow.
Head of FSC Scotland Daniel Moncrieff said: “Everything we offer at FSC Millport focuses on or draws inspiration from the wonderful natural environments around us so we are delighted to be able to display artwork representing these within the Centre. Marie has depicted some stunning nearby places and we look forward to existing and new visitors enjoying the artwork while we have it here.”
For anyone inspired by Marie’s work FSC Millport is offering a selection of artistic courses during 2016.
