Choose Slapton Ley Field Centre, Start Bay Centre or Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve. Altogether both Centres can provide accommodation for large groups of up to 180 students in a stunning coastal fieldwork location.
Slapton Ley Field Centre provides field courses for schools and universities at all levels as well as a programme of courses for individuals and families. Modern facilities include en-suite rooms throughout.
Start Bay Centre provides opportunities for junior schools, groups and families with exclusive use of the centre and self catering options at an affordable price.
Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve is an iconic fieldwork location surrounding the Centres. The Ley is the largest natural freshwater lake in the South West. Slapton Sands (a barrier beach and shingle ridge) separates the Ley from the sea. Slapton Wood (ancient woodland) is used exclusively for fieldwork. Extensive research provides a library of research papers to support your studies. We also provide a range of free events.
