Field Studies Council: Bringing Environmental Understanding to All

Enamelling for Beginners and Improvers

  • Location: Flatford Mill
  • Tutor: Toni Peers
  • Date: Friday 13 December 2019
  • Level: Open for Everyone

In this one-day workshop you will use a choice of copper blanks in shapes such as dragonflies to embrace our natural environment. You will learn how to fuse glass to copper in the kiln at temperatures starting from 750°C to create wonderful glass jewellery. Toni will take you through the basics of enamelling, including counter-enamelling, sifting, wet-packing and applying glass media. By the end of the day you will have made around 4 enamelled pieces suitable for jewellery, or perhaps for mounting to make your own piece of art. If you have been to one of Toni's classes before, she is more than happy to see you again, she will happily work with you to expand your current skills. Lunch is included.
