Stained Glass for Beginners and Near Beginners

  • Location: Flatford Mill
  • Tutor: Sharon McMullin
  • Dates: Friday 30 August 2019 to Sunday 01 September 2019
  • Level: Beginners

This practical, hands-on course is an introduction for beginners and will also welcome improvers who might appreciate the opportunity to expand their knowledge and develop their technique and creative ideas within a small group, under the supervision of an experienced tutor. Materials and methods will be introduced and skills taught to enable students to take home at least one finished piece of work. Participants should come prepared with an idea of what they want to make, either a drawing or a photograph of an image. The tutor can help with ideas. You will learn to use copper foil and do some basic decorative soldering. Tools and equipment are provided and a large selection of glass can be bought from the tutor as required. You should be prepared for expenditure of around £30-£40 depending on the size of the panel. Please note that the teaching element of this course will start before dinner on the Friday. See course details for more information.
