Join us for an inspiring day of talks and workshops and a chance to learn about the projects and people that celebrate wildlife in the capital. The keynote address from London based illustrator Carim Nahaboo will delve into the world of entomological illustration and its value as science and art.

The long history of biological recording in London is represented by a taster of what is planned for the 300th anniversary celebrations of naturalist Gilbert White, the achievements of the UK Biodiversity Centre over the past ten years and future plans, and the ongoing projects of the London Natural History Society in the “LNHS Spotlight” update.

Learn more about Brilliant Butterfly Banks with the London Wildlife Trust, bat projects with London Bat Group, encouraging water voles back into London rivers with Citizen Zoo, biodiversity in the planning system, and recording wildlife at Gatwick Airport. There will also be an opportunity to hear experiences of volunteering and training programmes and encouraging the next generation of naturalists. There will also be space to meet other people interested in wildlife recording in London during workshops and throughout the day
