This course is designed to develop basic bushcraft skills. No prior knowledge is required but participants must be over 16 years old. Sessions will be led in and around the grounds of Millport Field Centre and will include: basic knife and tool skills, woodworking, shelter building, fire-making using flint, steel and bow drill friction techniques, tinder making, basic wild food, and fire management for cooking, warmth and light. A basic bushcraft kit can be bought from the tutor at an additional cost of £35 per person to take home.

Geoff is a lecturer of game and wildlife management at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire and has many years of experience of teaching further and higher education. He is the founder of Bushcraft Education ltd. and a passionate practitioner and instructor of bushcraft and survival skills. He writes authoritatively on the topics of wildlife and bushcraft, particularly related teaching bushcraft and outdoor skills to children, for a range of print and online publications and regularly delivers seminars and workshops at national and international events on topics related to nature engagement, environmental education and bushcraft.
