Field Studies Council: Bringing Environmental Understanding to All

Anniversary celebrations at Amersham

Amersham -walk

FSC Members enjoyed an afternoon in the woods followed by a delicious cream tea at FSC Amersham on May 11 at one of the events arranged for the organisation’s 70th anniversary.

Around 20 people braved a stormy weather forecast and were rewarded with sunshine and the delightful view of blue tinged woods and cowslip filled grassland as they explored the woods and meadows around the Centre which is adjacent to a National Grid substation in Buckinghamshire.

Head of Centre at Amersham Jackie Rham welcomed the groups of FSC Members and their friends and gave a short talk on the Centre including its work with school children of all ages and programme of adventure activities in the school holidays.

Amersham 70th talk

The afternoon was the second of the programme of events for FSC Members which are being held around the UK at FSC Centres to celebrate FSC’s 70th anniversary.
