In recognition of excellence in teaching and learning in geography
FSC is delighted that it has renewed its Secondary Geography Quality Mark from the Geographical association, a strategic partner.
FSC was the first non-school organisation to be awarded the Secondary Geography Quality Mark by the Geographical Association in 2010. The SGQM award process encourages and supports organisations to reflect on their work and strive for the highest quality in their teaching. All the award winners undergo a rigorous moderation process, recognising student attainment, progress and achievement in areas such as geographical knowledge, understanding, values, skills and concepts, and sets expectations about the quality of teaching in geography. It aims to promote effective subject leadership and management, helping subject leaders raise the standards of geography in their organisation.
FSC has also been awarded the Primary Geography Quality Mark and our Nettlecombe Centre have been given the Centre of Excellence status.
