New FSC Walking and Wellbeing Course
FSC is pleased to announce that it has launched a new course, Walking and Wellbeing, which will first take place at Malham Tarn Field Centre in the Yorkshire Dales from the 5th – 7th October 2018.
Mindfulness is a practice that involves becoming more aware of what’s happening in the present moment, rather than worrying about the past or what might happen in the future. It’s about observing what’s going on, in a friendly and non-judgemental way.
There is a growing body of evidence demonstrating the benefits of practising mindfulness in a range of areas, such as stress reduction, general wellbeing, as well as the many benefits of being in the outdoors, such as helping eliminate fatigue and lowering blood pressure.
The aim of the course is to practice mindfulness and connect with nature whilst being guided by a skilled specialist. You will take part in simple mindful movements, breathing exercises and you will engage your senses in walking in the local landscape to fully calm and relax yourself.
The course is £249 (sole accommodation) or £229 (shared accommodation) per person, including:
- Wellbeing activities led by Martin Summerfield who is passionate and knowledgeable about the benefits of wellbeing.
- Comfortable accommodation in stunning natural locations.
- All meals, afternoon cake and unlimited hot/cold drinks.
This course is suitable for beginners with a basic level of fitness. The course will accommodate 16 people and these will be given on a first-come first-serve basis.
