Young Darwin Scholars visit The Linnean Society of London
During the Easter holidays 10 Young Darwin Scholars (YDS) attended a day visit to The Linnean Society of London.
We enjoyed an informative talk and tour from Dr Isabelle Charmantier, Head of Collections and the YDS enjoyed a real insight into natural history looking at the Linnean manuscripts and specimen collection of plants, fish, shells and insects that Carl Linnaeus the Swedish taxonomist collected prior to his death in 1778!
The YDS then had the opportunity to sample the Biomedia Meltdown workshop integrating Art and Science with lots of fun using ipads and paint run by Daryl Stenvoll-Wells the BioMedia Project Manager.
