Field Studies Council: Bringing Environmental Understanding to All

At this important stage of education, fieldwork at FSC can be carried out in complete confidence with experienced field teachers delivering up-to-date course content linked to Curriculum for Excellence requirements.  Our courses teach the 2015 CfE content at all levels.

Our courses are designed to meet the specification requirements set out by SQA, including covering core physical and human environment topics, developing geographical skills and providing opportunities for fieldwork linked to the Geography Higher assignment.

You can find out more below or please contact us to discuss your requirements.  We are continually updating our courses and can work with you to develop a course to suit your group.

Higher Geography FSC Kindrogan day

Visit FSC Kindrogan for your Higher Geography course and experience amazing upland landscapes and nearby river locations ideal for carrying out geographical enquiries.

Courses will integrate key cross-curricular themes such as learning for sustainability and continue to build on the four capacities, placing students in an unfamiliar environment in which they work together to solve problems, take part in group presentations and positively impact on the environment.

Geographical Information Systems (GIS) will be integrated into investigations, such as GPS to locate study areas and landscape features. We will also follow up investigations using GIS techniques such as GE Graph and Google Earth.

Higher Geography FSC Millport5 day

Visit FSC Millport for your Higher Geography course for its stunning coastal environment - ideal for coastal erosion, characteristics and land use.

As with the course at Kindrogan above this will cover key cross-curricular themes and GIS.

Small Group Courses3 day
