Rich Burkmar is an ecologist and data scientist working as a web applications developer for the Biological Records Centre within the Centre of Ecology and Hydrology. He is the primary author of the FSC Identikit (biological identification software) and the FSC biological recording QGIS plugin. He has broad interest in natural history and biological recording and expertise in Spiders and Harvestmen. He is a Trustee for the British Arachnological Society and an area organiser for the Spider Recording Scheme for which he covers the vice counties of Lancashire and Cheshire.
