Improve your drawing skills in the grounds of FSC Flatford Mill this Summer.

Taking inspiration from the things we can find around us at Flatford Mill this 1-day pen and ink drawing course looks at the flowers, leaves and natural subjects that we can find in the summer.

We look in detail at how to combine pen and ink technique with watercolour wash.

Refreshments and lunch will be served in the Mill dining room and are included in the fee.

If you require accommodation before or after the course, please contact us and we’ll try to help.

What to Bring

  • Cartridge paper (140gsm or above, A4 size) either loose sheets or in a sketchbook
  • Pencils (2B, HB)
  • Rubber
  • Set of black drawing pens of varying thicknesses (at least one thick and one thin) these need to be pigment fine liners (they need to be non-water-soluble).  I would recommend any of the Faber Castell Pitt artists pens, or the Sigma Micron, or Staedtler pigment fine liners.
  • Coloured pens: in a variety of colours and thicknesses (whatever you have to hand).
  • Small set of watercolours (I personally prefer schminke but any set will do).
