Join us for a jam-packed weekend of family fun and take part in team games and some festive baking. Enjoy a local walk and collect items to create a natural Christmas decoration. Don’t forget to make a tasty treat for the winter birds and the reindeers to put out on Christmas Eve! Spend an evening around a warming campfire singing festive songs. On the final day learn some map skills to find out how santa navigates around the globe and finally meet him in his grotto to collect your present!

Fill your festive boots with hot chocolate, mulled wine, Christmas biscuits, mince pies and a three-course Christmas dinner.

Don’t forget to wear your reindeer ears or your elf costume!

Tutor: Centre Staff

This course will be led by our experienced and enthusiastic tutors.

Please note: Depending on weather, or the government guidlines at the time of the event, some activities may need to be moved to different times or changed slightly.

Friday evening

  • Check in and settle into rooms
  • 18.00 – 19.00 Dinner
  • Elf photo shoot competition, Star gazing
  • Hot choc and marshmallows, biscuits and mince pies by the fire

Saturday

  • 07.30 – 08.30 Breakfast and collect packed lunch
  • Elf games - Learn all the important skills needed to be an elf: stacking presents, getting down chimneys, stealth walking, navigation and making people laugh.
  • Cooking activities - Christmas biscuits and cupcake decorating.
  • Walk – self guided - Winter woodland walk including Box Hill play trail. Explore the local area and do fun family activities along the way. Map and instructions provided. Christmas scavenger hunt e.g. find a pine cone, and other natural materials for decoration making and feasts for wildlife.
  • Craft activity - Make a tree decoration to take home and one for us to keep – decorate a small log round. Christmas wreath making.
  • Feast activity - Families to make Christmas theme bird feeders and reindeer food to take home with them to put out on Christmas eve.
  • 17.30 – 19.00 3 course Christmas Dinner
  • Camp fire - Warm up around a campfire and enjoy mince pies and mulled wine (adults) or Christmas biscuit (made earlier) and campfire. Get into the festive mood with Christmas stories and some singing.

Sunday

  • 07.30 – 08.30 Breakfast and collect packed lunch
  • Map skills Learn some map skills that are used by Santa to help him navigate around the globe. Families to compete in a Christmas themed friendly orienteering course around the centre grounds.
  • Meet Santa - Meet Santa before leaving, each child will receive a present, an elf hat and certificate for graduating elf school.

Before You Attend

We would love to take some promotional photos of you enjoying the sessions, if you are happy to be part of this, please download and fill out the photo consent form found here and email to [email protected], or you can fill out a paper copy on arrival at the centre. We will provide a packed lunch, please tell us if you have any dietary requirements on arrival.

What to bring?

Warm clothes, waterproofs and sturdy shoes (walking boots or wellies). We will be out in the elements, so please dress appropriately.
