Join us as we explore Epping Forest and discover more about the nature and wildlife that lives here.
Find out about British garden and woodland birds. On our walk we will look for local birds and listen to birds song. We will see local residents and if we get lucky may see some visitors as they pass through to their summer home.
Tutor: Edward Hutchings
Ed Hutchings is a journalist and wildlife tour guide who specialises in birds. He worked briefly for the RSPB and the BTO before his present career. He writes regularly for BBC Wildlife, Birdwatch, Bird Watching and Nature’s Home amongst others, whilst guiding for Greenwings Wildlife Holidays and The Travelling Naturalist. He has travelled extensively worldwide as a result. Ed has a relaxed and informal style to his guiding and strives to ensure that all guests receive his undivided attention.FSC want to inspire people to be curious, caring, and passionate about our environment. Our Explore nature and wildlife experiences are open to anyone. The mix of activities will inspire you to find out more about and discover how you can help wildlife on your doorstep. To take part you do not need any experience or any expensive kit, just an enthusiasm for being outside and discovering more about nature. Experts leaders and are happy to share their enthusiasm and encourage you to ask questions.

What to bring
- Bring a packed lunch and additional drinks
- Bring Binoculars (if you have them)
- Bring a bag to carry personal items whilst outside
- Wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather and being based outside for some or all of the day
- When outside, expect to be walking through easy terrain, sometimes on small unsurfaced (and muddy) paths.
