Due to Covid-19 we have had to cancel courses from March to 1st August, we hope you will find an event later in the year that you can attend.
This painting group will be suitable for anyone who would like to join an informal group of enthusiastic, outdoor painters who are comfortable working without the need of a tutor as this is not a painting course and there will be no tuition, critiques, or painting demonstrations. Mini bus transportation will be available each day to take the group to a different painting location, such as Woodbridge, Felixstowe Ferry and Pin Mill where individuals will be free to spend their time working however they wish and using their own preferred medium. When the weather is prohibitive a daytime studio will be available for the exclusive use of the group. The group will be limited to a maximum of ten people.
Although suitable for all ability levels, it is essential that those considering coming along are comfortable painting outside without assistance, as this is NOT a painting course and will NOT include tuition, critiques, or painting demonstrations. Non-painting partners are also welcome but, owing to the limited availability of space in the minibus, transportation will not be available to non-painting partners.
Tutor: Self Led - No TutorThis is a Centre Assisted gathering of like-minded individuals who use their equipment and our facilities to meet together as a self-led workshop. There is no lead tutor as they are self-sufficient.
Bring a friend!
If you are attending a course at Flatford Mill at the sole occupancy price, we are offering a special rate for a friend or partner not enrolled on the course to also stay at £50 per night for dinner, bed and breakfast.
Please contact FSC Flatford Mill on 01206 297110 or [email protected] to book this offer.
Each day the group will be picked up at the Centre typically at around 9:30am and transported together, by minibus to their painting location. Participants will then be free to spend the day as they wish, meeting up all together, or in smaller groups for lunch if preferred. The minibus will collect the group at around 4:15pm for the return journey to the Centre.
Evenings can be spent in the studio either as general discussion time, when individual help and advice will be available for those who might want it, or participants will be free to paint as they wish inside, or outside around the local area.
Before You Attend
What to Bring
- You will need to bring all materials and equipment that you will need during your time with the group. The daily minibus will have adequate storage space for transporting box easels, or similar, so you will be able to produce larger works if you so wish.
- The Centre has some metal folding field easels and folding chairs that can be hired but they do not stock painting materials.
