This 2.5 day intermediate Habitat Surveying course will provide you with the fundamental skills and knowledge required for professional habitat classification and mapping in the UK. Using the UK Habitat Classification (UKHab) system, learners will become proficient in identifying, mapping and assessing the ecological significance of the broad habitat types. The UKHab classification system will be compared and contrasted with alternative approaches including Phase 1 habitat mapping and the National Vegetation Classification of plant communities.

John is the Director of CH Ecology, an independent ecologist and consultant, providing surveys and training on behalf of conservation agencies and Local Authorities. John has a background within amenity horticulture as a Technical Manager, providing advice and training to Local Authorities, prominent sports facilities and private land owners. John is an enthusiastic communicator and botanist.
