Explore the woods of Amersham Field Centre and learn how to create a willow wreath base.

You will decorate your wreath with evergreen foliage and natural materials as well as making some smaller decorations to take home.

By the end of the course you will have learnt to make a wreath base, created a festive wreath to take home using natural materials and made some other Christmas decorations.

Price includes festive refreshments.

Jenny is an environmental educator and Forest School Leader with 16 years of experience working outdoors with young people. She enjoys exploring the woods and using found materials to create and craft a range of items inspired by the natural world.

Example Timetable

9.30-12.30 We will provide mulled wine and a non-alcoholic alternative plus tea and coffee, as well as some mince pies and biscuits.

9.30 arrive, welcome
9.45-10.45 Cut willow, make wreath bases and go for a walk to collect natural materials
10.45-11.00 Break and refreshments
1.00- 12.00 Decorate wreaths
12.00-12.30 Make additional decorations (such as willow stars and tree decorations) if time.

Before You Attend

What to bring

  • Sensible footwear for being outdoors and warm clothing as at least part of the course will be outdoors.
  • Your own secateurs and gardening gloves if you have them.
  • You may wish to bring a bag or box to take your wreath home in.
