Spend the day learning the basic techniques of linocut printmaking from printmaker Hester Cox. You will learn how to design an image suitable for linocut, how to use tools to cut your design and how to ink and hand-print your linocut to create lovely graphic prints inspired by the Yorkshire Dales.

We anticipate that this course will run with between 4 and 10 participants.

Tutor: Hester Cox

Hester has a BA (hons) in Illustration and works from her studio in Horton-in-Ribblesdale. Her colourful and richly textured limited-edition collagraph prints reflect her appreciation of the natural landscape. She is a member of Leeds Fine Artists, Printmakers Circle, Printmaking Online and Ålgården Studios in Sweden. Awards include an Extending Practice Award from Chrysalis Arts in 2011, which allowed her to work with the Mercer Gallery and the British and Yorkshire Museum, and she was one of ten artists selected to take part in Mirror Images, an international printmaking exhibition, which ran simultaneously in North Yorkshire, Scotland, Finland and Sweden in 2015.
