This course is designed primarily for students who are new (or fairly new) to pastel painting, but more experienced pastellists are also welcome. We will be working with Soft Pastels and after an initial introduction, the tutor will demonstrate the materials used and show various techniques that may be used in creating a landscape painting.
Participants can expect to complete 3 – 4 paintings during the course. The tutor will give guidance on composition, perspective and colour, and lots of 1:1 help and advice
Tutor: Issy Coe
Issy Coe is a professional artist based on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. She has been running regular classes and workshops at her studio since 2009 and exhibits widely, having works in private collections in the UK, USA, South Africa and Australia.
Issy was a qualified occupational therapist and started out working in art therapy. She has since attended numerous art courses and has a teaching qualification (adults). She gives regular demonstrations to art groups, using either oils, watercolours, line and wash or pastels. She is an experienced tutor and believes in helping students further develop their oil painting skills and encourage them to paint with feeling and emotion.
