From the beginning, the book and the bookbinder has made use of waste and the recycled, the Rag and Bone man – Rags for paper and Bones for Glue being just one such example. Students will have the opportunity to examine old books to see the how and why of hidden examples of recycling.
From the folding of recycled paper in to sections, to the finished book, the Recycled Book course is intended to introduce participants to aspects of utilising as much recycled and up-cycled everyday rubbish and cast offs to make unique, handmade books.
