Roost pouch with guide

Do you feed wild birds over the winter? Why not provide extra help with this roost pouch? It is especially useful if your garden does not contain dense shrubs or other shelter.

Wild birds can save a third of their body fat by roosting in a sheltered place during the cold winter months. The roost pouches provide a warm roosting and nesting place, thus aiding survival when food is limited and the temperature is low.

Made of natural and durable materials, the roost pouch is easy to install. It comes complete with fixing wires and full instructions. There are two holes: a small hole at the back for Wrens and Goldcrests, and a large hole at the front for general roosting. Adjust the fixing wire to place either hole in a forward position.

Plus to help you identify the birds you see, we have included the FSC’s fold-out guide to Park and garden birds. Our newly updated fold-out guide covers the top 50 birds of gardens and parks, including ponds and rivers. Designed for speedy bird identification with living birds in the garden, the guide features beautiful colour paintings by Chris Shields. Accompanying text on the reverse side covers body size, food, key identification notes and conservation status.

Gardens and parks are wonderful places for bird watching. Making a list of garden birds is a great first step into wildlife identification. Some species are present throughout the year, while others are summer or winter visitors only. Attract birds to your garden with the roost pouch, then use the guide to identify what you see.
