At Flatford Mill, all of our food is prepared using fresh, seasonal ingredients with the emphasis on providing healthy and hearty meals for all of our guests. We use local reputable suppliers who provide ingredients of the highest quality. We have a variety of hot wholesome meals including a vegetarian option, plus we offer homemade cakes which are delicious to eat as an afternoon snack. We strive to maintain the high standards of our five-star elite food hygiene rating at all times. If you have any special food requirements please let a member of staff know before you arrive at Flatford Mill Centre as we pride ourselves on recognising all food allergies and catering for all. Don’t forget to bring a lunch box and a flask for any day trips out.

Accommodation

We believe at Flatford Mill that all our guests should feel welcome and at home. We realise some of our younger guests can feel vulnerable as it’s their first time away from loved ones. We strive to achieve the best and that’s why we have friendly staff that are always on hand to help.

Flatford Mill is made up of four separate accommodation blocks: the Mill, Willy Lott’s House, Valley Farm and Babergh Bungalow, which are all located around the River Stour. The Mill and Willy Lott’s House are instantly recognisable since they are featured in many paintings by John Constable.

We have ten single or twin rooms and a further 15 spacious rooms containing three or more beds, giving a total of 78 beds. Throughout the four buildings there are 19 bedrooms which are either en-suite or have a dedicated suite across the corridor. The remaining six rooms (in the Mill) all have their own washbasins and share a new shower and WC suite close by. All of the bedrooms have mirrors, plugs and wardrobe space. We pride ourselves on having clean, cosy and comfortable bedrooms.

We have a student common room in the Edwards block with a football table, a selection of board games and a TV with a DVD player. We have a snug lounge area in Willy Lott’s house that has a seating area and drink making facilities. The Library/ICT room has a suite of ten modern desktop PCs with direct internet access, plus additional laptops with Wi-Fi access. We have a wide range of educational books and a lounge area for reading. All meals are provided in the large dining room in the Mill and we have a license to serve alcoholic beverages to anyone over 18. Other facilities include a Centre shop and a weatherproof equipment store.

We have five classrooms: Constable Room, Ennion Room, Bingley Room, River Room and Edwards Room. All can operate as teaching rooms or studios depending on the focus of each course. All have whiteboards with ceiling-mounted data projectors, Smart or Mimio interactive whiteboard facilities and internet access for Wi-Fi enabled laptops.

The Edwards Room is the most recent addition to these teaching facilities and is also available for hire as a seminar and conference facility for groups of up to 24 people. For these events, home cooked lunches are also offered, taken in the Mill Dining Room.

Flatford Mill is the perfect location for any school group or adult group. With the Centre's picturesque views, anyone who stays with us is simply inspired by the nature and can’t wait to come stay again.

The bedrooms, along with several other rooms mentioned, can be seen on our Virtual Tour page.
