Epping Forest
In the Heart of Epping Forest
This purpose-built day Centre was established by the City of London in 1970, the European Year of Conservation and is managed by the FSC on behalf of the Corporation. An excellent partnership exists between City of London Corporation Staff and FSC Staff to ensure the highest standards for educational services in Epping Forest. A Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) Epping Forest is nationally important for its wildlife.
Outdoor Classroom
The Centre offers an extensive range of programmes for all levels and abilities.Habitats include woodland, grassland, heathland, marshes, ponds and streams. The Forest’s past use as a woodland pasture and its long history of recreation provision have left many signs of human influence. This, and the Forest’s close proximity to urban and rural settlements, and to the Green Belt, make it an exciting place to study for any age group. Course length varies from 1/2 day to 5-day (non-residential)
