The FSC’s Spring programme of online training courses is open and available to book here

The courses are the first of many more using our exciting new approach. Each online course advertised is part of a larger framework for learning in that subject area. There are approximately 35 subject areas and you will be able to engage within the subject at a level that suits you.

Take ‘Discovering Fungi’ as an example; this is an introductory course designed for somebody with no prior knowledge of that subject area. However, it will whet the appetite and encourage you to take the next steps in your fungi learning journey. You may choose to progress through to beginner, intermediate and even advanced courses in specific niche areas for the subject of fungi and go from novice to expert through the FSC’s learning hub.

The online courses offer a chance for you to learn from the comfort of your own homes without compromising on content or quality. Rest assured that the materials developed for online learning mirror those created and experienced during place-based learning. Whether virtually learning or attending an FSC place-based course anywhere in the UK the learning objectives are the same.

Online course attendees will be given access to engaging training content to work through at their own pace within FSC’s highly accessible virtual learning environment – Moodle. The course will be broken down into bite size topics with new overarching themes introduced each week. Each topic covered will be consolidated with a live interactive Zoom workshop led by an expert in the field, with the opportunity to ask questions, expand knowledge and link up with a learning community.

“We’re so thrilled to be able to offer these fantastic new online courses, thanks to the expert tutors. Spring is a great time to start learning about biodiversity as plants begin to flower and trees come in to leaf and we’ve got a range of introductory courses available to book for people to start their learning journey.”
