You're invited Blencathra open day. Photo of Blencathra centre and ivy on a tree.

At Field Studies Council Blencathra, we welcome everyone with an interest in learning more about nature and the natural world, from early years through to university students and adult learners too.

The centre is easy to reach from main transport routes, and also has access to great outdoor spaces. Blencathra Field Centre is situated 300m up, on the south-facing slopes of Blencathra in the Lake District National Park. It sits just one mile outside the Lakeland village of Threlkeld, with panoramic views of the Lake District fells. This impressive setting has a true sense of space, giving the site a unique quality, which many visitors enjoy year after year.

Would you like to come and see our facilities, speak to our knowledgeable tutors and experience some of our outdoor learning activities? Then we’d love for you to join us at one of our free open days this year.
