At Field Studies Council Preston Montford we welcome everyone with an interest in learning more about nature and the natural world, from early years through to university students and adult learners too.

Would you like to come and see our facilities, speak to our knowledgeable tutors and experience some of our outdoor learning and adventure activities? Then we’d love for you to join us at our free open day this year.

The centre is easy to reach from main transport routes, and also has access to great outdoor spaces. We have teaching sites across Shropshire, including our own on-site pond, semi-ancient woodland, meadow and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) along the River Severn.

Thursday 20th August 10am – 5pm

Activities on the day will include:

  • Pond dipping
  • Orienteering
  • Bushcraft
  • Adventure activities (extra cost)

Our Education Team and staff will be on hand to answer any questions you have about our school trips, venue hire and natural history training.

The event is free to attend but parking will be charged at £1 per car on the day. We do recommend booking your place in advance.
