We are delighted to announce the return of Shropshire Ento Day, which is the 13th Shropshire Entomology Day.

This day will include regional and local presenters telling us what fabulous invertebrates we have on our doorsteps and what projects exist that you can get involved with. To date, we have enlisted a line-up of fantastic speakers which you can see below.

  • Dr Erica McAlister, Principal Curator (Flies and Fleas) Natural History Museum.
  • Pete Boardman – Dipterist and Natural England Field Unit Entomologist
  • Dr Heather Campbell – University lecturer and Ant specialist
  • Sue Rees-Evans – Shropshire Dragonfly County Recorder
  • Ian Cheeseborough – Shropshire Bees and Wasps County Recorder
  • Josie Bridges – Natur Am Byth!
  • Clare Boyes – Montgomery Bees and Wasps County Recorder

Attendees are encouraged to bring any specimens they would like to ask about. We will have local and national experts on many taxa including Diptera, Arachnida, Coleoptera, Lepidoptera, Dermaptera, Orthoptera and more. Please bring along any old or now unwanted entomological books you would like to sell.

The £10 attendance fee includes tea, coffee and biscuits in the morning and tea, coffee and cake in the afternoon. Please bring your own lunch.
