Join us for Blencathra Holiday Club. We will be running 4 days of activities at Field Studies Council Blencathra in the school holidays, for children aged 8-11 years old.
Each day will be a mixture of adventurous activities such as hill walks or ghyll scrambling and nature-based environmental games. Activities will happen on-site at the centre or in the surrounding area with a minibus journey to the activity location.

Our day will run from 9am to 4pm. Children can be dropped off from 8:30am and collected at 4pm.

Before You Attend
Lunch
Please provide your child with a packed lunch for the day. Depending on the activity we might eat lunch inside at the centre or have a picnic out on a hill. Please make sure they have enough lunch for an active day out. We are a nut-free centre so please don’t pack nut-based products,
Kit list
Outdoor equipment can be borrowed from the centre and kit will be provided for some activities. Children will need to be dressed appropriately for activities outside and please take into consideration the day’s weather.
The following items are recommended:
- Comfortable, warm clothing for the outdoors
- Walking boots*
- Wellies*
- Waterproof Jacket*
- Waterproof Trousers*
- Backpack*
- Water bottle
- Packed lunch
- Sun protection (sun hat, sun cream, sunglasses)
- Medication if needed (e.g. asthma inhaler, EpiPen)
- Hat and Gloves
- A towel and a full change of clothes
