Micro moths are difficult and Dave gave us a very helpful summary of the families and features to look for to narrow down possible species. He explained how many can be more easily identified via their leaf mines and I really felt inspired to go out and look for some! There was a good mix of explanation and practical work in a very friendly atmosphere. Dave was very receptive to suggestions from some participants for how to develop the course further in future. Judging by other participants’ experience it will be good to repeat this course. I felt I learned a lot, but need to do more to consolidate.
Flatford Mill is a great Centre for this kind of course with a good range of habitats. It’s an interesting place to stay, with comfortable accommodation, good food (vegetarians very well catered for) and very friendly, helpful staff. Thanks to all.
