A wonderful weekend, especially memorable for close encounters with thousands of Puffins on Skomer and standing at St Govans Head witnessing the moving sight of tens of thousands of Manx Shearwaters flying past on their nocturnal visits to feed their young. This was a packed nature appreciation course expertly taught and led by Clive Hurford, with a deliberately small group. We visited a range of habitats, saw some rare plants and birds (e.g. choughs) and enjoyed the magnificent coastal scenery of Pembrokeshire. I hope to return to do the Spring Wildlife Watch!
