A very enjoyable week in the sunny S.Devon. The accommodation and food were excellent, especially the flapjack for packed lunch, the fresh brewed coffee after dinner was a real bonus.
The tutor had an amazing breadth of knowledge about the wildlife we found and also the general area. On the rare occasions he was unsure led the discussion of how to ID plants/birds as we talked over the day’s trip in the evening. I learnt a lot without realising it, the mark of a good teacher.
The course involved walking around hilly coast paths but the pace was easy with many breaks. I found the course busy, evening walks were optional but very enjoyable, watching bats emerge from a roost and finding glow worms in the hedges were not to be missed.
