’11 adult art students and two tutors from an art club in East Sussex spent
an enjoyable five nights, 4 days at Flatford Mill. Accommodation was in
the Cottage, Bungalow and the Mill itself. The rooms were more than
adequate in being clean, comfortable with facilities. Our work room was
fully equipped with all our needs.

Catering was enjoyed by all, with a good breakfast, lunch (Everything you
needed for a make yourself package lunch, just brilliant) and evening meals
were varied and tasty….

We were well looked after by the staff and nothing was much trouble. We
were so impressed with the whole package that we are returning again in

other distractions. Flatford Mill is perfect for us. Whether we want to
use the workroom for whatever project we’ve brought, go for a walk,
visit to the National Trust Cafe, or sketch one of the gorgeous

“2026 will be our 27th consecutive year visiting Flatford. It was even made possible for us to attend at the height of the pandemic in 2020 albeit with various safeguards in place.
The River Stour, Willy Lots Cottage and the Mill are in the grounds of the centre. It’s a beautiful location in which to relax and unwind and is one reason why we return year after year. There’s also a National Trust shop, a Tea-Room and a Wild Flower Garden only a few minutes walk away.
At Flatford you get helpful, personable staff; good courses; a fabulous location; and value for money.  I’d thoroughly recommend it.” – Come and Create course participant.

“There are a group of us who meet up once a year somewhere in the world and last weekend almost 40 of us hired Rhyd-y-Creuau for three nights. We have been all over the world, including Iceland, Spain, Colorado, Scandinavia, Italy etc and the consensus was that this was the best venue we have ever had.
The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable and the rest of the facilities (both indoor and outdoor) were fantastic. It didn’t even matter if it rained, as there is plenty of covered outdoor seating as well as many different indoor areas including a large TV room, a library and ‘adults’ only lounge etc.
The kitchen facilities were absolutely brilliant and the staff simply couldn’t have been more accommodating.
