Outdoor Learning Activities – half day or full day
| Team building | Improve personal and social skills, with better teamwork skills and communication. We will engage your group with relevant activities and ensure – outcomes are understood and can be actioned by everyone. Activities vary depending on your requirements and your location, but could involve problem-solving activities such as shrinking islands, logic puzzles or physical building challenges, such as creating a way to transport water. |
| Environmental activity | Improve individual well-being through a purposeful connection to nature. Our biodiversity activities increase individual understanding of the world around them and develop observation and identification skills. Suitable for beginners and enthusiasts, this session will encourage participants to consider our place in the world and our sustainable actions. You might be assessing the health of a freshwater pond or river, or sampling for invertebrates. |
| Bushcraft survival | Support your group with an engaging and fun outdoor session. Team building, communication and resilience are developed through bushcraft and survival activities. You could be building a shelter, lighting a fire without matches or sitting back to toast marshmallows. The session promotes positive wellbeing through nature connection, and includes time for self and group reflection. |
| Adventure activity | Your group can develop confidence, resilience and self-esteem by accepting an adventure challenge. Adventure activities are all linked to nature, a connection to promote positive wellbeing. Activities are adjusted to make sure all participants can push the edges of their boundaries, whether they are thrill-seekers or usually happy indoors. This is available at selected adventure activities centres, with options including mountain walks, canoeing, climbing, raft building and archery. Available at the following centres: Blencathra, Castle Head, Millport, Preston Montford and Rhyd-y-Creuau. |
