If you’d like to develop your printmaking skills, join us for Further Printmaking with Sue Wieck.
This course is a follow-up for people who have previously attended the Simple Printmaking workshops. This workshop aims to develop, perfect and refine your printmaking skills already learned, by focusing more on Lino block printing to achieve successful results. Techniques such as reduction printing, jigsaw lino, printing shaped Lino blocks and rainbow inking will be used to create multi-colour prints. Printing on different types of papers and prepared backgrounds will also create an exciting extension to your work.

The course is split into easily manageable tutor-supported sessions, enabling each person to create their own set of prints developed from imagination or photos which could be inspired by the landscape and environment of Flatford Mill.
The tutor will show examples of her own prints and demonstrate the techniques involved.
About the tutor
Sue originally trained as a textile designer and has continued to expand her artistic skills in many different media. She has taught these skills to both adults and secondary school students for over 36 years during which time she was Art Adviser for Bexley Education Authority. She has continued to run workshops at the Flatford Mill centre in Suffolk since 1990. Much of her work records the landscape loved by John Constable which continues to inspire her today. In 2000, she exhibited one of her paintings at the Flatford Mill Millenium exhibition alongside one of John Constable’s original pieces!
She is an accomplished watercolour artist but also works with printmaking methods, sometimes combining the two.
Sue has developed an experimental approach to printmaking by incorporating mixed media, drawing, and a variety of unusual printing techniques. Sue regularly exhibits mainly watercolour paintings in local galleries.

About Flatford Mill
We have four buildings that are used for visitor accommodation. Whilst most rooms are either en-suite or have a dedicated bathroom, there are some
rooms in The Mill that share showers and toilets at the end of the hall. If this is
un-suitable for you please make the office staff aware upon booking or as soon as possible.
Please be aware that you are visiting a Field Centre that caters in the main for school parties; the accommodation is basic and dormitory style, but warm and comfortable.
Explore our range of craft courses hosted by our engaging tutors and learn from their expertise and skills. Our art courses are a chance to meet like-minded people and a chance to unwind from everyday life.
