During this course you will learn the traditional method of lino cutting and printing but in a new way and without a printing press!
You’ll start to explore a new type of soft polymer, which is much easier to carve into, making the experience more enjoyable and quite relaxing.

We will begin with sketching and taking photos around the Mill, gathering ideas for your image to take forward into print. We will be doing a one colour print which can be added to with some watercolours or ink pens when dry.
No previous experience is needed, drawing skills are not essential either, that’s where tracing paper comes in handy! Once you’ve carved your polymer block, I will show you how to print using just a spoon as a brayer too.
Refreshments are included, but please bring lunch with you.

Amanda Clement-Robinson
Being born in Colchester, I studied at Colchester Art School & then went on to do my Degree at Winchester School of Art. I have always had a love of history and where things come from. I enjoy working with lots of different textures, mediums and colours. I feel really lucky to live and work in such a beautiful place, along the River Stour and the surrounding areas of Flatford and Dedham.
The Stour’s wildlife and nature is abundant both on, in and along its’ banks, now being recognised as an “Area of Outstanding Beauty”. Great for a local Artist like me, for inspiration all year round!
