On this residential you’ll gain hands-on experience in outdoor leadership and first aid in the field. You’ll also achieve your 16-hour first aid qualification as well as experience in outdoor leadership and working in the outdoors.

Day 1
Arrive 12:00

Afternoon: Icebreakers, team building activities with reviewing

Evening: What makes a good instructor and avenues to a career

Day 2
All day: First aid course 9-6

Evening: Introduction to risk assessments

Day 3
All day: First aid course 9-6

Evening: PPE checks, equipment management and prep for the next day

Day 4
All day: Adventure day out. Potential activities include ghyll scrambling, rock climbing, canoeing, walk, bio blitz

Evening: Sort and store kit, set up mammal traps

Day 5
Morning: Open mammal traps, conservation work at centre, pond dip or related session

Afternoon: Participants take turns managing group on low ropes and obstacle course or run team building exercise.
